Language Arts/Lit class: Plans for the rest of the year
Dear 4/5 Parents:
Here is our plan for the rest of the year using the Learning Lang. Arts Through Literature book:
We are skipping the "Newspaper Unit" and the "Poetry Unit". Of course, you may work on these units with your student at home, optionally after co-op ends May 11.
As a class, we are reading The Sign of the Beaver, (NOT Wilbur and Orville Wright or The Tale of Anabelle Hedgehog).
We will read The Sign of the Beaver through March & April, culminating with activities on April 13.
We will do the "Story Writing and "Book Making Unit."
Mar 2 - Lesson 31
Mar 9 BREAK - Read Sign of the Beaver chapters 1-13
Mar 16- Lesson 32
Mar 23- Lesson 33
Mar 30- Lesson 35 Story Writing
Apr 6 BREAK - Finish reading Sign of the Beaver
Apr 13- Lesson 34 Sign of the Beaver book activities
Apr 20- Lesson 35 Story Writing
Apr 27- Lesson 36 Story Writing - final drafts
May 4- Lesson 36 Book Making
May 11 Field Day/Picnic
