Hey families! I am working on the sign up genius for the Christmas party next week (got side tracked with hubby coming home from Cuba today!). I will get it posted soon but wanted to go ahead and post details so you can start planning.
We will meet at 10a. From 10a-11a we will have the Classroom parties. Both middle & high school are doing white elephant gift exchanges. They should bring a wrapped gift around $8-$10. Lower grades will play games and just have fun together. At 11a everyone will go to the Multi Purpose Center in the other building for a group party, lunch, etc. We generally plan on a couple of hours, and with group effort clean up we should be out the door no later than 1:30!
Co-op will cover the pizza. The sign up genius will have spots for desserts, sides, fruit/veggies trays, drinks, and…

***IMPORTANT CHANGE: For the Christmas break, we do want you to work on LESSON 12. (This week finish Lesson 11.)
After break, we will resume Lesson 13.
For Lesson 11 today, we did 3 things.
Read & discussed the story "Catch the Moon" in the new storybook. Day 1 a, b, Day 2 a, b
We reviewed the -ED and -ING words for Day 2 d.
We made books!! ...to review the story. Ask your student to read their book to you!! Day 2 b, c.

Hi everyone!
We’re keeping a close eye on the weather and waiting to see if Cabarrus County announces any delays. If they do, we will cancel co-op for the day. We always want to keep the safety of our families in mind—especially since many of you travel from more rural areas where road conditions can be unpredictable.
Our group heading to sing at Morningside will still plan to meet at 12:30 PM at the church, as the roads should be clear by that time. Please make sure to eat lunch before you arrive so we can use our time together to rehearse and get ready to head over. 🎶
We’ll keep you updated as we hear more—stay safe and stay tuned!

After we eat lunch on Monday,
we will have a quick practice
and at 1:10 PM, we will drive over to Morningside Assisted Living.
We will sing three songs, act out Luke 2, and hand out cards to 25–30 residents.

On YouTube Kids, there is a lady “Grandma” @JaclynMrgn who reads the book Ben and Me chapter by chapter. This is an option for your child to read along or listen. It looks like I cannot copy a link. I’ll give you a search terms below, to look for it. Look for the Preview video - she gives a nice introduction to this book of historical fiction about Benjamin Franklin.

Today we had fun at our belated Thanksgiving party - thank you Miss Julie! Look for your student's coffee filter turkey craft!
Next Monday, we will continue Lesson 11.
Suggestions for this week:
Review and complete unfinished past Lessons.
Read lots of Christmas books together - as you read with your student - sound out words, identify action verbs, look for contractions.
I am attaching a PDF of some optional copywork pages to trace. I love copywork! It helps students with handwriting, good sentence construction, spelling, and more. These are a few pages about Christmas carols and include some pictures to color!

One of the highschoolers left their circuit and house at co-op a couple of weeks ago. No one mentioned it today but they will be needing that circuit for this week's assignments. Please check with your student and if it belongs to yours, message or text me privately so we can arrange to get it to them.
