Letterland Parade

Happy Monday! On Nov. 10th, our class will be doing a Letterland Parade in Chapel. We plan to let the kids dress up like their favorite Letterland Character and sing our Letterland action song.

(practice the song here)

Let us know which character they want to be and we will make the craft part of their costume in class. You are Welcome to add to their costume, but it is not required. Here is inspiration for their costume. https://us.letterland.com/at-school/letterland-dress-up

*** 1st Grade Level*** We have 4 students working on the 1st grade level work. They learned long and short e/u today. Our time is very limited in class, so it is so important that they continue working at home on these skills each day. We learned that when vowels are at the end of the word or syllable, sometimes they say their name. Example: me, we, tulip (tu-lip) the u is at the end of the syllable and says it's name.

They have 4 pages to complete in their workbook this week. I suggest doing one page a day and incorporate the decodable readers.

Decodable Reader suggestions:

If your child is struggling with the decodable readers follow these steps.

  1. First, read the story to them.

  2. Next, have them echo read it with you. (you read a word and they copy it)

  3. Have them read it with you.

  4. Allow them to try and read it independently.

Please be sure to turn your book in each Monday so we can check your work. :)
